Diamond Setting
Nice story about a diamond setting.
The setting he found is BEAUTIFUL. Apparently he’d spent months looking for the right ring, found it, and the jeweler had to track it down from a tradeshow. It’s not a traditional pronged solitaire, its more modern looking and just COOL (have I ever said i like different?). Its a platinum band with 10 small diamonds inset (5 on both sides), then in the center it holds the main diamond flush with the band, but you can see the side profile completely, so from the side it looks like the diamond is just floating with no support from the sides. We’ve had a diamond for 4 years, even before our wedding, but haven’t been able to complete it. So Kynan’s been secretly working on it and I think that’s what makes the ring even more special…

Family And The Extensions Thereof
Nothing like a beautiful ring.
Oh yes. And then there was the ring. *sigh* It’s really beautiful: 1/2 carat total weight, platinum, a simple channel-set row of princess-cut (square) diamonds. Looks about like this. No solitare, no foofy hand plumage, just classy, simple, and understated. And I can’t wait to wear it forever.

Handwriting Analysis
Handwriting analysis is a unique holiday gift.
Years ago a friend of mine studied graphology and for a Christmas gift took a sample of my writing and prepared a thirty-some-odd page analysis based on that sample. Her results mirrored an assessment made on me using Myers-Briggs typology.

Birthday Books
I love books for birthday presents.
Orhan Pamuk is one of my favorite authors. I had never heard of Turkey’s most famous novelist until a few years ago, when I got My Name is Red
as a surprise birthday gift.

Birthday Bash
Nice birthday gift ideas here.
Read the entire article.LOL, yep. We went to a waterpark today for Matthew and my birthday. Yep. We’re one year older ^.^ It was really fun. We brought a couple of our other friends. The waterpark had a wave pool (though it kinda sucked) a lazy river that we floated down in tubes, and a waterslide where you went down on a tube. Matt and my other friend Jack were together on the slide, (you have to use double tubes) and they flipped over. Luckily neither of them was injured. Me and Matthew are getting laptops soon. Our parents ordered them for us a couple days ago. We’re each paying $300. Matt might also pay the first year of domain name (m-unit.org) for this site as a birthday gift. YAY!

Floral Art
If you need a floral artist for you next holiday gift, here's a lead:
And here’s another instance where I am friends with brides mom! I first met Michelle’s mom, Nancy Stevens, when I asked her to be the florist for my wedding. Nancy had work that was above and beyond all of the other florists’ work that I had seen. Nancy knows her flowers, knows weddings, and is the most amazing floral artist I have met. Let me tell you . . . the bouquet she made for me has been preserved and is HANGING in my home to this day! I couldn’t have asked for a better bouquet . . . but above all else, I made a great friend!

Knitting Attention Deficit Disorder
It seems like everyone in the world is about to get a knitted hat this year for Christmas.
This is the first of 5 felted hats I need to make for Christmas gifts. I have a bunch of little girls who want hats. I have pink, blue, magenta, and two orange to make. I had borrowed Felted Knits to use one of the patterns, but tit didn't quite come out how I wanted to I started over with a pattern I made froma mish-mash of my felting hat experiences. I'm pretty pleased with it, but I am thinking I'll take all the left over yarn from all of these and make some felted flowers to tack on.

Military Might
Aren't missiles sort of overgrown birthday candles?
Not exactly my idea of the ideal birthday present. The Babur missile is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads and has a range of 500km (310 miles), a military spokesman said. Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said the launch was a birthday gift to President Pervez Musharraf.

Not Whine.... Wine!
Wine is a great anniversary gift. A good wine merchant can help you find the right bottle
I need some help. I don’t drink wine… never liked it much. It’s been a long time since I’ve even had any… but last time I had it, I didn’t like it. However, I seek your opinion. What’s good? Red, White, Sparkling? Help - please. I’m thinkin’ of gettin’ a bottle (w/ a personalized label) for Mr. PM for our upcoming anniversary. If I do, I don’t want it to taste crappy. Any recommendations? I have no clue, help a girl out.
